This mini drill press is very well manufactured:

Here is a short video: Drill Press running. As you can see and hear it is running smoothly.

My first test was drilling a 0.3mm hole in styrene: Drilling 0.3mm hole. Obviously this went perfect!

Next step was the first real usage: A brake wheel on a flat car was broken. In order to replace it I needed a small hole for the rod to hold the wheel. It was quite easy to drill the required 0.3mm hole.

This went also very well! I'm really happy with this little machine, albeit I do not have problems drilling such small holes by hand. With this machine it's even easier and for sure perpendicular. The only downside I've noticed so far is the really small base plate - it's not too easy to bring i.e. a railcar as shown in the right position. So I'm already thinking of changing to a bigger, self made base plate made of steel (instead of aluminum used here) to be able to fix things with magnets.
